Anyways...today was a pretty good day. The kids were ok. At one point they made me mad because they were goofing off and running around the room (literally) when they were supposed to be doing a worksheet. However, they knew very quickly that I was mad. It's amazing how quickly kids move when you say in your loud, not yelling, but mean teacher voice, "Everybody. At the carpet. NOW." We had a chat about expected behavior and how I shouldn't have to tell them this because they're "not babies" and should know already. Second-graders do not want to be thought babies. They were much improved after this and I gave myself a pat on the back. :)
Tomorrow I'm off to a different class for the afternoon - a fifth grade at a different school. My class from the past few days will probably be glad to have their teacher back - although I will miss them!

I'm sure there were some that missed you when their teacher came back. I would! You're right about the 2nd grade mind resisting being thought of as babies. Hope your next class appreciates you!
Love you!!! MOM
